do something dark

You don't have to just sit and watch - why not take advantage of the hour of darkness and do something appropriate? We've come up with a few ideas and we'd love to hear yours. Let us know and we'll add the best ones.

Have a candlelit picnic - London has some of the best parks and open spaces in the world so take advantage of them! Take along some good food (locally sourced of course!), something nice to drink, a few candles and relax for the evening.

Go on a ghost walk - Take a historic stroll to discover the spooky stories behind our city. There are loads organized ghost walks going on - check out www.walks.com for details.

Look upwards - the more lights go out he better view we'll all get of the stars. Read up on constellations and see how many you can spot. Find out more at www.bbc.co.uk/science/space/myspace/nightsky/

Spot the bats - it will be dusk during the event, exactly when the bats come out to play! Head to www.londonbats.org.uk to find out about organised bat walks in London.
